CRAB PIZZA

Family Favorite!

There is always crab pizza when our family gets together. This has been a family favorite for years. It is especially good with Wheat Thin crackers. So easy to make and makes a great presentation.

You can use canned crab, or if you are lucky enough to find fresh crab meat, that’s all the better.

The recipe calls for a bunch of green onions, but the other day when I made this, I didn’t have any green onions, so I went out to my “mini garden” and cut some chives. I liked that just as much, so maybe I will use those going forward.

Ingredients

3 8 ounce packages of low fat cream cheese

1 bunch of green onions or chives

1 12 ounce jar prepared chili sauce

1 6 ounce can white crab meat

Parsley, chopped (optional)

Preparation

Soften the cream cheese. Chop the green onions (chives) and add to the cream cheese. Mix well. Spread the cheese mixture on a round plate and spread out to look like pizza dough. Add the chili sauce on top and spread all over the cheese with the back of a spoon. Drain the crab well, break up the pieces and spread evenly over the chili sauce. Add chopped parsley (if using) on top. Chill well before serving. Serve with crackers (my favorite are Wheat Thins).
