Tuna Melts

Quick and Easy Lunch!

Once again, it’s my husband who is creating and making lunch. He loves to make Tuna Melts. They are quick and easy to make, and taste amazing. I love the way he “browns” them under the broiler because it makes the cheese taste all that much better.

When we get a chance to have an actual lunch, it’s always so hard to decide what to have. Not too heavy, but substantial. I am not a deli lunch type of person, and I actually prefer a warm lunch. These Tuna Melts hit the spot.

Ingredients

2 15 ounce cans of Albacore Tuna in water

Chopped onion

Mayonnaise

Mustard

Salt and pepper

Relish (optional)

Cheddar Cheese

Sourdough bread (toasted)

Preparation

Drain the Tuna. Mix the Tuna and onion. Add the mayonnaise (start with 2 Tablespoons), mustard (start with 1 Teaspoon), salt and pepper to taste. Once you have everything mixed together, taste it and adjust to your liking with the mayonnaise and mustard.

Spread on toast, add sliced cheddar cheese (any cheese you like works). Place under the broiler and watch carefully. Broil to your liking.
